Clay Rural Water System Water Application Terms and Conditions

The undersigned (hereinafter called the “Applicant”), hereby applies for service/membership in Clay Rural Water System, Inc. (hereinafter called the “Corporation”), upon the following terms and conditions:
1. The Applicant shall become a member of this Corporation upon acceptance by the Corporation of the application and by Applicant completing requirements for membership as outlined in the Corporation’s policies.
2. The Applicant shall comply with and be bound by membership/hookup fee and meter deposit requirements as may from time to time be adopted by this Corporation.
3. The Applicant will, when water service becomes available, pay therefore monthly at rates to be determined from time to time in accordance with the policies of the Corporation.
4. The Applicant will comply with and be bound by the provisions of the Articles of Incorporation, Bylaws and Policies as may from time to time be adopted by the Corporation. Information regarding the Articles, Bylaws and Policies can be found on the System website or by contacting the System Office.
5. The Applicant assumes no personal liability or responsibility for any debts or liabilities of the Corporation.
6. The acceptance of this application by the Corporation shall constitute an agreement between the Applicant and the Corporation and shall continue from the date service is made available until canceled by notice given by either party to the other.

7.  CRWS utilizes a remote meter reading application to facilitate customer billing. This application is not available to the customers. CRWS does not monitor the water usage data for customers to determine if there is an unreasonably large water usage by any one customer. The customer shall not rely upon the remote meter reading application, utilized by CRWS for billing purposes, as a substitute for their own diligence in monitoring their water usage. The customer is responsible for all water loss on the customer's side of the meter, whether or not detected by the remote meter reading application. The customer is required to make a physical inspection of the customer's own system on a regular basis to avoid unintended water loss.
8. Any applicant for service who will use in excess of 90,000 gallons of water per month for livestock service shall be required to provide one-day permanent on-site storage or other suitable backup source of water, per Policy No. 310.
